How I became a Polygamist - Jide Kosoko

Veteran Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko has revealed that being a polygamist is his greatest regret in life in an interview with Saturday Beats.

Kosoko said; ‘“If I have to be frank, I regret being a polygamist. I must confess. I did not really plan it and it was designed beyond my power because I never planned to marry so many wives. I first married one wife but she was not part of the job I was doing and in those days, you needed a very trustworthy assistant. That pushed me to marrying the second wife. I stayed with them until I lost them both eleven months apart in the same scenario – childbirth.”

Kosoko said he wouldn’t have married again but, “A doctor of mine advised against it. He said I was still young and needed to take a wife. I looked at the situation critically and realised that a lot of my friends were coming to my apartment with their girlfriends and I saw myself as becoming irresponsible and my house was a free house. Some of those of my friends were married yet they still brought their girlfriends to my house. I felt if I had a wife, all that would not happen so I tried to get another wife. I was romancing two women with the mind of settling down with one. But eventually, the two entered. That was how I became a polygamist.”

Police arrest Audu Maikori, Chocolate City Boss

Audu Maikori, a Nigerian lawyer and CEO of Chocolate City Entertainment, has been arrested by the police. The arrest is linked to his tweets about a fatal attack on his relatives in Southern Kaduna that turned out to be false, his lawyer said on Friday.

Mark Jacobs told PREMIUM TIMES that Mr. Maikori, 41, was arrested in Lagos around noon Friday by a team of police officers attached to inspector-general monitoring and intelligence team and was immediately transferred to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

“I arrived at the Force Headquarters and learnt that a detention order has already been signed for him,” Mr. Jacobs said of his client. “I am not sure he will be released tonight.”
Mr. Jacobs said he was told by the police that a magistrate issued warrant for Mr. Maikori’s arrest and are planning to charged him with attempt to “incite” the public.
Police spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, did not immediately respond to PREMIUM TIMES’ requests for comments Friday night.

The arrest of Mr. Maikori, a vocal advocate for the plight of residents of the restive area, came nearly four weeks after he narrated an attack that purportedly took place in Southern Kaduna.
In a series of tweets on January 23, Mr. Maikori said his driver, later identified as Simon Joseph, told him that he lost his brother in a Fulani herdsmen ambush in Southern Kaduna and will be travelling for burial.

“My driver’s younger brother and five others students of college of education Gidan Waya were ambushed and killed by herdsmen yesterday #SouthernKaduna.
“They were in a commercial car going back to school when the driver stopped suddenly under the pretext of checking his engine #SouthernKaduna.

“As soon as the car stopped the attackers shot all 6 students but let the driver who is Fulani go. He gave us these details#SouthernKaduna.
“When we speak we are viewed as trouble makers by the Govt. Well I have seen the pictures and it’s a painful sight#SouthernKaduna,”

Social media users became livid after Mr. Maikori’s vivid narration of the purported attack.
The tweets were later picked up by some Nigerian newspapers without further checks.
Two days later, Kaduna State College of Education in Gidan Waya, where Mr. Maikori said the students were schooling, issued a statement denying any loss of students to an attack as described by Mr. Maikori.

The Kaduna State Government condemned the misinformation and the reporter responsible for the story in Vanguard Newspaper was arrested and charged.
On February 4, following intense criticism on social media, Mr. Maikori retracted and apologised for posting the tweets in a lengthy article that also offered detailed explanation of how he was misled by Mr. Joseph.

“I hereby tender an unreserved and sincere apology to the Management of the College of Education, Gidan Waya, His Excellency the Governor of Kaduna State and the Kaduna State Government, and also to the people of Southern Kaduna and the Fulani community and also VANGUARD newspapers whose source was my driver for the false statement by my driver which I also publicized believing same to be true,” Mr. Maikori wrote.

Mr. Jacob said Mr. Maikori’s driver was arrested a few days ago in Lagos, and had remained in detention ever since.
Mr. Maikori’s arrest caused social media buzz late Friday, with a prominent human rights activist and legal expert, Chidi Odinkalu, calling for his immediate release.

Mr. Odinkalu, a former Chairman of National Human Rights Commission, was among the first to raise alarm about Mr. Audu’s arrest Friday night.

“They should immediately release him because he had apologised for the tweets and I don’t think the matter is a criminal offence that warrants him being locked up for so many days,” Mr. Odinkalu told PREMIUM TIMES by telephone.
Over 200 have been killed and thousands more displaced in the latest violence between Fulani herdsmen and southern Kaduna residents.
A curfew Governor Nasir el-Rufai imposed in Zangon Kataf was relaxed last week.‎
Mr. El-Rufai said the attackers were herdsmen from neighbouring countries who had returned to avenge attacks on their relatives and livestock back in 2011.

The governor came under fire after admitting he had sent payments to the attackers to compensate for their losses, as part of efforts by his government to end the bloodshed.
A foundation laid by the Nigerian Army for the construction of a military base in the area was destroyed last week.

Olamide, Vector, Skales & Falz Make “MMMC Jan. 2017” List. | See Full List.

It appears that January went well with  a lot of hit singles that came through from late 2016 to January 2017, these singles have in one way or the other hacked our playlist. Oh Yea! that reminds me of some tracks that will be mentioned under this list that’s not a single but a track off an album. Perfect examples are Olamide’s Pepper Dem Gang & Vector’s Adura.

We bring to you Mp3bullet’s Monthly Majority Choice (M.M.M.C) January 2017 Edition, Mind you we are not arranging on basis of hit singles or serially, songs listed are picked at random.

Olamide – Pepper Dem Gang ft Davolee
No one expected this track from “The Glory” album to have its way this far, this song turns to be on every one’s lips. Trust me, Olamide didn’t make any mistake signing Davolee to his YBNL Nation because this dude has performed very well in this so called single, there after he dropped his official single “Festival Bar”. Don’t be an ingrate, thank Baddo for rocking the street always..Lol, don’t mind me.

9ice – Living Thing
Honestly, I saw it coming that 9ice will definitely take over with this single on the day of its premiere, what else can we tag this track to be? As a living thing, I wanna be controlling things. Lol, No matter what the song may sound like, it has taken over already. Kin sha ti lowo. Believe me, Guys on the streets can’t get off this song.

Mr Eazi – Leg Over:
Starboy worldwide act, Mr Eazi gave his fans “Leg Over” before his most anticipated Accra To Lagos mixtape dropped. “Leg Over” isn’t just an hit but it took over us as well. I Like his style of music and the efforts he put on this single. “My baby dey distract me o with her bum bum” , Leg Over, she dey give me hangover…Lol..Bad guy.

RunTown – Mad Over You:
Runtown proved himself to be an hit maker once again with this his new single “Mad Over You”, at first no one reckon with this tune, but it later find its way to disturb the Nigerian music industry and Yes! Africa as whole. Ladies, Don’t be deceived, the guy isn’t getting over you ooo…Lol, I love this song to the moon. I dey mad over you girly…my super woman..

Small  Doctor – Penalty:
I keep wondering where Small doctor always get his inspiration for his dropping songs that will in one way or the other disturb the street, Lmao, How on earth will penalty be shot to throw-in??? Oh Yes! It’s safe to say Small Doctor was in another realm when he sang this song. Let’s leave matter for mater, Penalty is the talk of the street now, whether you like it or not.

Vector – Adura:
A lyricist will always be a lyricist, Vector won’t stop killing it, I can still perceive the smell of “King Kong”  from afar not to talk of the newly premiered album “Lafiaji”. I must confess, “Adura” is my favourite of all the tracks loaded on Vector’s new album. No one pray to remain on same level. Royce Rolls no be mate with Akura, that line alone can always make your day. if you believe you can move from Akura to Royce Rolls, Adura by Vector won’t leave your lips. We like it.

Jaywon – Another Level ft Mr Eazi
Next world Music Boss, Jaywon rounded up the year 2016 with a song featuring Mr Eazi, the one and only #ZagaThat, Jaywon was on another level for real has he added another talented fast rising act Twist Da Firman to his label and also welcomed a new baby. Isn’t that enough? Am on anther level, Loke Loke lemama rimi, I love that line though.

Skales – Cool Temper
I so much like Skales with the way he’s penetrating the industry, His songs has create a niche for him, he keeps stepping up his game on daily basis, We thought lot of singles was just enough for the year until he rap it up with Cool Temper without even getting us aware that the upgraded version which happens to be the remix will enlist the Don gorgon, Burna Boy of the music industry. we love both original and the Remix. Baby coolu tenper…Sisi Bolanle. All hands up for you young skales.

Joe El – Do Good (Remix) ft Sound Sultan &  Honorebel
Joe El has done the unexpected thing by preaching gospel with his new single “Do Good”, Just when we thought we are cool with the original version, the kennis music act “Joe EL” hits us with the remix, and trust me he made the right choice by enlisting Sound sultan and Honorebel on the remix, No bad belle is allowed on this. if mosholashi don full and church full too, who con be the people wey dey do bad bad things? who con be the people wey dey chop government money?” Hmm! Word!
Abeg make una Do Good cos good go do you too..Lol….*Pick Race*

Falz – Wehdone sir: (Download Here)
No wonder Falz is tagged “the bahd guy”, at first I wasn’t getting it, but before i knew it, the song has flooded the social media. It has its own madness and it has since then been trending even before the song was released, a big shout out to Falz for taking us to another level with his new single “Wehdon Sir” but Falz don’t forget that a Yahoo boy too is an entrepreneur…Lol. I rest my case here.

Lil Kesh – Shele Gan Gan
2016 went well for Lil Kesh but he didn’t relent on his efforts as he dished out “Shele Gan Gan”, It’s a song to un-dull the dullards sitting in the clubs. Just ask them “Ki lon shele Gan Gan”. all thanks to Krizbeat for the wonderful beat. More fire, more hits. if you don’t have shele gan gan on your playlist then you are on a lighter mood not note this time around. We like it.

Wizkid – Daddy Yo
Star Boy surprised us with this classic song on Headies night, i could remember this song was released before bagging an ward at Haedies that night and the song has since then been killing it. who doesn’t want to vibe to “Daddy Yo” both on streets and clubs? Wizkid is indeed “Baba nla”. He’s not ready to give up at all. Hit upon hit. Keep shining starBoy.

Tekno – Rara
Tekno was able to preach with this new single entitled “Rara”, and na true thing he addressed on this new single, abi when last Nepa give una 15hours light uninterrupted? Oluwa wey dey bless me, Go bless you too. Tekno keeps drop hit singles. expect his new collaboration with Davido tagged “IF” to drop on friday. “Rara”  is the best single to always put on replay when you are tired of situation of the economy.

My Jos Top 3 Finest Music Producers

Music producers are often defined as the unsung heroes behind the scenes in popular music. In recording a song, or making record, the music producer serves much the same role as a director in a film.
It is the music producer's job to make sure that in the end the finished product is as good as as it can be. in some cases this may merely involve making it listenable, however in other cases this means making sure the song is a hit, or at least has the potential to be hit. From the city of Jos, these are my top 3 finest Music Producers.

1. TUC
TUC is a Jos homegrown music genius when it comes to making nice tunes and hit tracks. He is popularly known for his signature tune "the undisputed champion". He has had many stints in music production over the past year. He was the major producer on Ice Prince 3rd studio album "Jos2theWorld". In fact, he furthered proceeded to show his musical dexterity and skill by producing "Trillions" on which Ice Prince featured Phyno. Recently, he was the brain behind Yung L's ''This Year" single. A track that gave music lovers prospect and inspiration for the new year and it is still making headlines across all radio stations round the country. He also had a fantastic spell in producing Yung L's single "PassMe The Aux". A club hit and also a track that has been on many playlists and still making waves round town. He is known for bringing the best tunes out of tracks and making sure his talents and music prowess as a music producer do not go unnoticed. Many Jos upcoming artistes see him as the shining light in the city. For me, i call him the "Maestro".

2. Producer Xtraordinnaire [Prod. X]
Another one. Producer X is a jack of all trade when it comes to music. A rapper, a songwriter, a vocalist, and also a guitarist and also he has a high sense and a level of experience when it comes to piano. He is the in-house music producer for" Purple Street Music" [PSM] a record label based in Jos. He is known for his techniques and abilities not in only in music production but also in mixing and mastering a rare quality many producers lack. He played a major role in the production of the mix tape "Urban Stereo Sounds"  [USS] for in house rapper "Titobrown". Of recent, he was the mastermind behind another purple street in house singer "Tonero's" single ''Jawonle''. Behind the music production game, Producer X is a successful and professional sound engineer with various skills and magnificent knowledge in the field of sound.

3. DuktorSett

A sound engineer, a music producer, a maestro in the game. Another Jos based producer just like other producers stated above. He is regarded as a genius and maestro because of his versatility in music production and and sound engineering. He was the anchor behind the production of the mix tape "Lagos" by Efe. A mix tape that propelled Efe to a greater height in his music career .
